About us

Yael and Bilha are renowned researchers in the field of parental experiences in challenging situations. The main goal underlying their research is to understand the behaviours, perceptions, coping methods and emotional processes that characterize parents in situations of stress and difficulty.

Their research examines the parental experience from all aspects, with a holistic view that focuses on the children and their needs, on the relationships within the family and on the parents' interactions with all accompanying care systems. This is investigated with an emphasis on social and cultural sensitivity observing the diverse populations in Israeli society.

The main goal of the laboratory is to deepen and expand the parental narratives with a distinct sensitivity to challenging experiences. To this end, Bilha and Yael choose to specialize in a mixed-methods research that combines qualitative, quantitative and categorical methods. This approach enables them to gain a broad point of view as well as dive into the unique concerns expressed by the parents and caregivers.
